| With a rich harmonica
tone and style all his own, Ken Schoppmeyer has paid his
dues playing blues in San Diego and across the nation. Leader
for over 10 years of the King Biscuit Blues, his was the
first band to play the very first “San Diego Street
Scene,” and in 1994 appeared on the cover of “Belly
Up to the Blues.” Ken led the bands who opened for
legends such as B.B. King, Ray Charles, Muddy Waters and
Paul Butterfield. Endorsed by Hohner Harmonicas and mentioned
in harmonica books the nation over, Ken also possess a rich
and unique singing voice, with a range that spans over 4
octaves. Ken has an extensive knowledge
of blues, rhythm & blues, soul music, and jazz which
contribute to the wide variety of material he performs;
favorite artists include Johnny Adams, Earl King, and
Wynonie Harris, to name a few.
