Saxophone Player

Aaron Hudson

Born and raised in North San Diego County, California, Aaron had music in his soul from the beginning, starting out on piano, mimicking tunes that he would hear on television.   He was heavily influenced growing up by his mother's singing and guitar playing.   However, the musical influence that would become the most prevalent in his life would be that of The Beatles,   for their innovation, creativity, songwriting and overall musicianship.   Toots and the Maytals are his favorite band, and he holds John Coltrane as his favorite musician and saxophone player.

The San Marcos High School marching band gave Aaron a chance to experiment, trying out several different instruments including clarinet, tenor saxophone, tuba, drums and trombone.   He had a knack for music and would become proficient at an instrument almost overnight, finally settling on the Tenor Saxophone.   This band helped him develop the strict work ethic and music perfectionism that contributes to his abilities as a musical director.

Aaron joined The Fabulous Rudies ("The Rudies") as a high school senior, never planning to stay on long.   However, the group gave him the opportunity to experiment with pop song writing, and as he wrote more songs for the group, he realized how rewarding songwriting could be.   He not only enjoyed the musical expression via chords and melody, but also articulating his unique and idealist view of the world.

Aaron brings all these abilities to King Biscuit Revue.   An articulate and talented saxophone player, his soulful interpretations mimic the jazz greats that have put their mark on his musical psyche.   We are, indeed, fortunate to have him!
